The Tri-Cities Links Empowerment Closet
Highlighting the Tri-Cities Links 2018 Theme "When You Educate a Woman, You Empower The Family". The Links will be opening our closet to local women in the community who may need professional gently used and new clothing for hardship related purposes. Specifically, the Tri-Cities Chapter of the Links Inc. is partnering with the Domestic Violence Services Agencies to provide access to this valuable service to local community women.
Walk to End Alzheimer's
In honor of our founding Chapter President Link Alice Carter. The Tri-Cities Chapter of the Links, Inc. formed a team of Links and friends to walk and be all in for Alice Carter and all those suffering with Alzheimer's. On this day, we were blessed to have Connecting Link-Dan Carter join the Link Sisters and over 400 participants to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's in the Tri-Cities community.
National Wear Red Day Celebration
Prioritize our health and supporting the Go Red for Women annual celebration. We made commitment to know your numbers and practice healthy eating habits. The Tri-Cities Chapter of the Links invited local women to share in healthy heart awareness guidelines from the American Heart Association and enjoyed heart healthy refreshments. This was a delightful event hosted at Miss Rhoda's Wine Bar, a female, African American owned local community business.
Lifting the Veil
Highlighting the Tri-Cities Links 2018 Theme: "When You Educate a Woman, You Empower The Family". The Links have partnered with the local Domestic Violence Services Center to create a program that creates awareness of abusive behavior in relationships both physical and verbal with seminars and workshops.
The KIVA Foundation
The Tri-Cities Links have funded several international African women with much needed micro loan amounts to assist them and their families with needed capital for various business needs. Each micro-loan of $25 provides these women with the start-up capital necessary to invest in their own business of food production, seamstress and more.
